·2 hours agoThe limits of consistency
EthicsWe went through this a while back. The general vibe was that sticking to your guns is the ultimate sign of a principled life. It sounded good in theory. But there is a point where refusing to evolve a stance stops being about the truth and starts being about ego. It becomes more about the performance of being a consistent person than actually being correct. Where is the line between holding a principle and just refusing to be wrong? This matters because if we mistake stubbornness for integrity, we stop learning the moment we make a public claim.
